Trekking in Abruzzo

Abruzzo is the ideal region for trekking. From beginners to experts, every scenery cannot but enchant the excursionist. When nature rises the curtains on a panorama with such surprises and wonders, it will certainly have an impact on everybody.

Trekking

TrekkingFor those who wish to be in constant touch with nature, for those who cannot wait till the weekend to run away from the city smog and breathe pure air. For those who want to follow paths that fill their soul, for those who want to get on the top of a mountain or come down to the plain, exhausted but really happy for the unforgettable landscape.

Trekking and mountain walking in Abruzzo, in its parks, in its green oasis scattered through all the region, are activities that those who choose Abruzzo to spend their holiday cannot give up.

Trekking in the three natural parks

If you are looking for a full immersion into the nature, then you may choose one of our long excursions, during which you will visit all the three parks of Abruzzo: the National Park of Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise, the Majella National Park, and the Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga National Park. Besides mountain tracks, you can visit small towns rich in history, with a long craft and culinary tradition.

Snow trekking in Abruzzo

Snow trekking is really hard, obviously. First and foremost, you have to find an expert guide, since snow covers everything with its blanket, even dangers such as gorges and precipices.
Breathing the rarefied air of high mountain is a strange sensation at first, but once you get used to it and start looking at the panorama, you will certainly notice surprising details, since the Abruzzo Appenine is a magic place.

Trekking garments

Expert excursionists certainly know what to wear when trekking. Beginners and lovers of mountain walking who never did it before, should wear high-cut trekking shoes to have maximum support and avoid ankle sprains, should have a backpack, and wear several different layers, that can easily be taken off when you get too hot.
